NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED INTO THE ROTARY CLUB OF ENCOUNTER BAY 2019 to 2020

On the 4th July, 2019, Alan Mullins, club President, inducted Jen Vonic-Joyce and Greg Hatcher (husband and wife team)

Jen Vonic-Joyce is married to Greg, combining two children, Meg and Liam with Greg’s children, Kaitlin and Joel. From trainee Detective in the Australian Federal Police to an organic vigneron in the Riverland, Jen has had an interesting and eclectic career, with a strong emphasis in Youth work and leadership. She is currently working as a community liaison officer with Headspace and enjoying the lifestyle that Fleurieu has to offer. Welcome Jen!

Greg married Jen in 1997. He has been a mechanic, farmer, project manager, youth worker, career coach and is currently a lecturer with the Well being and Resilience team based at Mt Barker TAFE. He is also a keen cyclist and occasional artist. Greg has embraced Fleurieu living and is now a proud father of four, who range in ages from29 to 26.

Jen has been given the Rotary classification “Youth Worker” and Greg “Vocational Service”. Alan Kluske will be their mentor.

The RCEB is always on the lookout for new members to help it with its humanitarian and community outreach programs. Club members value inputs and skills new members bring and look forward to working closely with them.

NEW MEMBERS INDUCTED INTO THE ROTARY CLUB OF ENCOUNTER BAY 2019

On the 28th March President Bob McFarland was privileged to induct two new members into the Rotary Club of Encounter Bay. Their backgrounds are interesting.

Sylvie Clarke worked in France as a personal assistant to the Chief Engineer of Bell Co (AT&T USA ) before migrating to Australia in 1983 and settling in Whyalla. In 2005 Sylvie moved to the Barossa Valley to take up a position as Finance officer for The Tanunda Lutheran Homes and in 2008 moved to Semaphore to work as an accountant for Landscape Construction Services.

From 2009 - 2013 Sylvie moved to Strathalbyn and took on the position of Accountant for the Hills, Fleurieu and KI Regional Development Australia.

In 2013 Sylvie decided to start her own business Smart Home Vision Realty specialising in Eco Real Estate in Victor Harbor. Sylvie still has most of her family living in France except her mother and two sons.

Councilor David Kemp, and former Rotarian, was also inducted into the club. David served 33 years in the SA Metropolitan Fire Service rising to the rank of Commander and a member of the executive team with experience in corporate governance and emergency management, He served on state and national committees, has tertiary qualifications through the Institute of Police Management and currently lives at Encounter Bay. Davis is currently a volunteer at the Encounter Centre.
